78'ers Baseball

78'ers baseball is for players ages 7 and 8 (some 6). If your 8 year old is still developing better hand eye coordination or they are on the younger side of their classmates or have not played baseball before, this is the place to start. A safety ball will be used at this level since this will be the first-time children will be pitched to versus hitting off of a tee. Small pitching machines are used at this level. Coed teams, no tryouts. Approximately 8 games. No scores or standings are kept, and no umpire. Players get a t-shirt and cap to keep and are asked to wear cleats and to have a glove. Boys must wear an athletic cup.

(For 6 year olds to play 78'ers baseball they must have played one year of Tee Ball and have league approval to "play-up", for safety reasons. Six year olds should register for Tee Ball and then submit a request to the league to "play-up". Send requests to BallardLittleLeague@live.com. If approved the league will assign the player to the 78'ers division)
