2013 Ballard Baseball Summer League
Posted May 20, 2013Hello Ballard Little League families!
With warm temperatures and June nearly here, it's time to think about SUMMER BALL! This is the time of year when schedules are relaxed, there are no practices and players just play ball. Often a barbeque is part of the game. Games are typically twice per week, no weekends, and players can come and go as their schedules permit.
This is a great opportunity for players to continue working on their hitting, catching and throwing during the warm months of the year.
We have two baseball "divisions" for our Summer League program:
- 60 ft. division - for kids 8-11 (as of 4/30/13)
- 90 ft. division - for kids 12-14 (as of 4/30/13)
A unique opportunity exists for 12 year old players, who are able to "play up" on the 90' diamond to get a taste of playing Juniors. We strongly encourage players to take advantage of this fun and low-key introduction to the Big Diamond.
For registration and more information, please go to http://www.ballardll.net/summerleague and sign up today!
If you are able to help with summer league, please register as a coach, even if you are registered for the regular season. This will enable us to assign you and to be sure you've completed your background check.
For any questions, please contact Eric de la Harpe at edelaharpe@hotmail.com.
It's ALMOST summer!

Before you go out and buy that new bat for the 2013 season, be aware of the moritorium on many composite bats enforced by Little League International. Go to the Bats page for more information, including links to the Little League International website with an explanation of the rules, and a comprehensive list of allowable composite bats.
