Hit-A-ThonPosted April 8, 2014
The Ballard Little League Hit-a-Thon is in full swing! (pun intended). Now is the time to get donations for the big day on April 27th. Please follow the instructions below to find your players' individual fundraising site and forward on to all of your family and friends!
For those of you who are new to the league, or not familiar with our hit-a-thon fundraiser here's the gist:
On April 27, 2014 (after your team picture TBD) at Loyal Heights Community Center, every player, regardless of whether they turn in donations, will have the chance to hit three balls. We will track the number of feet of their longest hit. Donors can contribute a per foot dollar amount or a flat donation. In the case of a per foot donation, we will update each players site to calculate the donation amount.
Ballard Little League relies on donations every year to keep our league functioning in areas such as: scholarships, field maintenance fees, city fees, equipment, uniforms, tournaments, safety clinics, etc.. the list goes on and on. While there is never a mandatory fundraising amount placed per player, we do ask that each player or family participates whether it's $1 or $100. It's empowering for the kids to feel like they've contributed, and you can help them whether it's an email to an aunt or uncle or going next door to ask a neighbor. Every child will be recognized for his or her effort no matter what dollar amount they turn in.
Traditionally, we have supplied each player with an envelope and a fundraising sheet (door-to-door style) and asked that they turn in their donations by the end of the season. We will still have this system available if you wish, but we would like you to try our online version if you are able to do so. It's very simple AND safe. Please follow these simple instructions:
Finding Your Player’s Fundraising Page:
1. Go to the bottom of https://99pledges.com/fund/ballard
2. Click on the magnifying glass icon, and type your player’s name.
3. Then simply select your player by clicking on their name.
If you have technical questions, please email email@example.com
Thank you all for your continuous support!
Ballard Little League
Hello Ballard Little League Supporters!
We are very excited as we get ready for the 2014 season which will celebrate 60 years of Little League baseball and softball in Ballard! As one of the oldest Little Leagues in the state of Washington, we are very proud of our legacy. Our alumni tell us that some of their fondest memories are of playing ball at Gilman, or winning the League championship, or learning to slide on a warm spring day. We're proud that our players not only go on to play more ball in their lives, but that they also go on to lead productive and happy lives and we hope they take some of the lessons they learn on the ball field with them.
Please consider a donation to the League. Our registration and sponsor fees and basic fundraisers cover only about 2/3 of the cost of supporting our teams. Last season, we fielded 28 teams, and hope to field 32 in 2014. For each new team, it costs the league about $2300 and the income is about $1760. This leaves a hole in the budget and we hope everyone who reads this note will click on the DONATE NOW button in the upper right of this page and donate generously to Ballard Little League.
Thanks for your support!
