Summer Ball Program

Summer League baseball is an opportunity for kids to play baseball after the completion of the regular Little League season. It is competitive, but played in a more relaxed atmosphere, with the emphasis on fun and skills acquisition. Normal Little League rules are adjusted, team rosters are expanded to accommodate vacation schedules, and we play only twice a week, with no weekend games, to maximize the flexibility of busy summer schedules. We want players to try new positions on the field, take some risks, and push themselves beyond their comfort zone. We provide a setting that encourages fun, while striving to win in athletic competition. In the past, we’ve had potluck barbeques at the games (just to give you an idea of how serious we are about this).

There will be a limited number of spaces for players. At present, we plan to have three teams made of 9, 10 and 11 year old players. To qualify, a player must commit to attending at least half of the four weeks of games. Space will be filled (~14 players per team) on a first come first served basis. In the past, even players who did not make it on the team to start with, were placed on a waiting list and played later in the season as other players dropped out. Each player will receive a hat and a t-shirt to keep.
